USW Cares: Cambridge Steelworkers in the Community

January 16, 2017

Story submitted by Chris Ramsay, USW Local 4610

We collected a large amount of items from the local members, the community and our parent group from the Squad. Our USW Women’s committee has been volunteering at the Bridges Shelter (Cambridge Shelter) on the days they need help.

This Christmas, we wanted to get more awareness so I asked the parents of the Cambridge Youth Soccer U11 Boys Target Squad, that I coach to donate some items. We received a large number of items that will help with the new women’s shelter, also out of the Cambridge Shelter. We collected coats, toques, socks, clothing, shoes, dishes, coffee makers.

Thank you to all Steelworkers who contributed!
