STATEMENT OF ACTIVISM – USW District 6 Next Generation
We, the Steelworkers Next Generation, are about active engagement, individual empowerment and political involvement.
Building on the hard fought-for gains and rights union members have won before us, we bring new enthusiasm and methods of organizing to expand the equality and justice that is the founding core of this great Union.
As current and future leaders we are committed to full participation, training and skills development as we develop our own way. As engaged young women and men we see the value in grassroots mobilizing, political action, government lobbying and public debate. It is through a commitment to social justice, democracy and environmental sustainability that we will build the relationships and the world our generation will inherit.
We are armed with new and transforming tools of communications, and we are determined to fight for and extend the prosperity and fairness that all working people and their families deserve.
