District 6 stands in solidarity with USW Local 7972

July 21, 2026

United Steelworkers District 6 proudly stands in solidarity with the members of USW Local 7972 as they continue bargaining for a fair collective agreement with Reynolds.

Steelworkers believe that every worker deserves fair wages, safe working conditions, strong benefits and respect at the bargaining table. Collective bargaining is most effective when employers negotiate in good faith and work toward agreements that recognize the value of their workforce.

District 6 supports the members of Local 7972 as they continue their effort to secure a fair contract. We stand with them in their determination to protect good union jobs and the rights that generations of Steelworkers have fought to achieve.

To the members of Local 7972, know that your sisters and brothers across Canada stand with you. We are Stronger Together.

An injury to one is an injury to all.
