The USW District 6 Human Rights Committee will be hosting the 5th annual District 6 Black History Month Dinner and Dance at the Leo W. Gerard Hall in Mississauga, Ont.

USW International Vice President (Human Affairs) Kevin Mapp and Matthew Green, NDP Member of Parliament for Hamilton Centre, are headlining our guest speakers. Yard Lime Band, a steel drum band and a DJ will be entertaining us through the night. There will be raffles, 50/50 draws, give-aways, union trivia, topped off with some dancing.

Instructions on registering for the event:

1. Organization or group USW local unions and area councils, as well as organizations and groups can secure their sponsorships by sending a cheque to the address below. Cheques must be made payable to District 6 Human Rights Committee:

In the coming weeks, a link will be sent to the designated contact, to register for the event. Each attendee from your organization or group must be registered and have their own profile.

2. Individual attendees Individual attendees can email D6BlackHistoryEvent@gmail.com to request a registration link. Starting Mon., Feb. 5, 2024, individual registrations will be honoured in the order of their registration date. Every individual that registers must state that they are registering as an individual.

This event is free and is open to all USW members and their community, but spots are limited. The deadline to RSVP is on Friday, February 16, 2024.
