The District 6 Human Rights Committee is proud to host its 8th Annual Black History Month event, taking place Feb. 19-21, 2026.
This year’s theme, Gifted and Black: Celebrating Potential and Promise, recognizes Black excellence, resilience and leadership while creating space for meaningful learning, dialogue and celebration.

Date: Thursday, Feb. 19 and Friday, Feb. 20, 2026
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location: Leo Gerard Hall, 1158 Aerowood Drive, Mississauga, ON
Capacity: 75 participants
Participants must attend both workshop days. Partial attendance is not permitted.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. | Dinner at 7:00 p.m.

Note: Hotel accommodations and lost time are the responsibility of the local union.
Registration information – Please read carefully
- Attendance at both workshop days (Feb. 19 and 20) is mandatory.
- Attendance at the Dinner and Dance on Feb. 21 is optional.
- Workshop capacity is limited to 60 participants.
- Dinner and Dance capacity is limited to 300 participants.
- If a local union is registering members, the local must provide each participant’s full name and personal email address.
- Confirmation emails and event updates will be sent directly to registered participants.
- Confirmation emails may be sent to junk/spam folders – please check if not received.
Registration closes Feb. 9, 2026, or earlier if capacity is reached.
