The next meeting of the USW Women in Industry Network will be held once on Zoom on Wednesday, December 13 at 5:30 p.m. Pacific time (which is 6:30 p.m. Mountain, 7:30 p.m. Central, 8:30 p.m. Eastern, and 9:30 p.m. Atlantic time, 10 p.m. in Newfoundland and Labrador). We will hear from Mélanie Tremblay from USW Local 9490 at the Alma, Québec aluminium smelter. Mélanie will speak about the local’s orientation program for new hires who are women.

Network meetings are hosted by Steelworker sisters who work in industry: Alecia McLeod (manufacturing sector, LU7913, Brandon, MB) and Geneviève Savard (mining sector, LU5778, Fermont, QC). Meetings are short and have full English-French interpretation.

The Network for Women in Industry is sponsored by the USW National Women’s Committee, and provides a confidential space for women in industry to meet, discuss issues of common interest, share ideas, and support one another.
