New Poll Shows Rising NDP in Statistical Tie, Horwath as Best Premier

June 11, 2014

TORONTO – Momentum and voter support have shifted to Andrea Horwath’s New Democrats who are now in a three-way race with their rivals, a province-wide poll on the eve of the Ontario election shows.

Horwath also is viewed as the leader who would make the best premier of the province, according to the poll by Ipsos Reid.

“This poll shows that in every community in Ontario, you vote New Democrat to stop Tim Hudak,” Horwath said today. “(It) shows that New Democrats have momentum all over Ontario.”

Ipsos Reid says its poll shows a “three-way race” among decided voters and notes the NDP has “gained momentum.” The poll gives the New Democrats the support of 30 per cent of decided voters, compared to 31 per cent for the Progressive Conservatives and 33 per cent for the Liberals.

Steelworkers know that it’s time for change in Ontario – time for Andrea Horwath and the New Democrats who will bring change that makes sense.

Ontarians are tired of Liberal scandals and corruption, tired of Liberals who over-promise and under-deliver.

The people of Ontario know that Tim Hudak is NOT the change we need. Hudak will kill 100,000 jobs, attack workers’ rights and cut primary and secondary education.

We deserve better. Steelworkers support Andrea Horwath and the NDP because they will make life more affordable, reduce auto insurance and hydro rates and create jobs with tax credits.

“Andrea Horwath will work hard for jobs and affordability. She’s a leader we can trust,” says Steelworkers Ontario Director Marty Warren.

On June 12, vote for Change that Makes Sense. Vote Andrea Horwath and the NDP.
