In June and July of 2022, Starbucks partners at the Clayton Crossing store and the Langley Valley Centre Starbucks store voted to join the United Steelworkers union.
Since then, partners have been working together with the union to achieve a first collective agreement that realizes the goal of better pay, benefits, job security, scheduling, safety and other working conditions.
While we have made a lot of progress at the bargaining table, we still do not have a deal. We believe that we are not that far apart, however, Starbucks continues to drag its feet and continues to disrespect its employees by not reaching a fair deal. Only two key items remained outstanding: hours of work and wages.
The red cup holiday season is the busiest time for Starbucks and there are additional pressures on the partners. It’s time to come together to rally support for a fair contract for these workers.
Join us on Red Cup Day, November 16, for our Red Cup Rebellion rally in Langley and Surrey, B.C.
RSVP to let us know that you’ll be there!
In solidarity.
