Mentorship, Opportunities and Union Leadership Development program – apply today!
USW District 3 is introducing a mentorship program for emerging leaders in Western and Northern Canada.
The Mentorship, Opportunities and Union Leadership Development (MOULD) program is a pilot project in District 3 to formalize leadership development, utilizing a mentorship model to complement and add to the existing USW programs.
The program will identify emerging leaders and pair them with current leaders/mentors over an 18-month program. Participants will learn about mentorship, advance their leadership skills and develop and implement a leadership development project in pairs.
The MOULD program aims to identify and develop emerging and future leaders in our union, particularly young and diverse activists; to promote the USW to families and the community; to build support and the foundation for an ongoing program as part of overall USW education and leadership development; and support the other objectives of the USW.
MOULD aims to engage 12 USW members – mentors and emerging leaders – in this pilot project.
The program will identify emerging leaders and pair them with current leaders/mentors over an 18-month program. Participants will learn about mentorship, advance their leadership skills and develop and implement a leadership development project in pairs.
The program is specifically seeking NextGen members and will ensure participants reflect the membership of our Union and include members from equity-deserving communities.
