Announcement on March 18, 2020
On March 18, 2020, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced additional measures to combat
the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic:
- $27 billion in direct support to workers and businesses
- $55 billion in tax deferrals to meet liquidity needs of Canadian businesses and individuals
- $82 billion combined, more than 3% of Canada’s GDP
