Fifth Annual Steelworkers Charity Golf Tournament raises over $18,000 for the Twinkie Foundation

Through their annual charity golf tournament, Steelworkers in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., have raised an impressive $18,311 for a great cause in their community.

Members of USW local unions in Sault Ste. Marie hosted their 5th annual Charity Golf Tournament at Crimson Ridge Golf Course on Aug. 11, to support the Twinkie Foundation, which provides funding to families who must travel for medical care for children under 18.

The fun and inclusive USW event welcomed golfers from all backgrounds to enjoy a day on the course while supporting their community.

The impressive fund-raising total reflects the incredible generosity and collective efforts of participants and sponsors. It’s a testament to what we can achieve when we come together for a meaningful cause.

Over the past five years, the USW golf tournament, with unwavering support from Steelworkers and their community, has raised $66,571.35 for the Twinkie Foundation.

The Twinkie Foundation is committed to helping relieve some of the financial burden incurred by families within a 100-kilometre radius of Sault Ste. Marie, who must travel outside the community for medical purposes for children under the age of 18.
