Tomorrow is Election Day in B.C. Steelworkers, make your vote count!

2026 BC Election GOTV

Tomorrow is Election Day in British Columbia and there’s too much at stake for Steelworkers to sit this one out.

Across our province, working families are facing real challenges. Forestry communities are fighting to protect jobs and keep mills running. Mining workers need stronger safety protections and training. Canadian jobs are threatened by outsourcing, and workers deserve stronger rights to organize and bargain for fair contracts.

We need a government that will stand up for workers and not just during an election, but every day after.

That’s why the United Steelworkers union has been calling on candidates to commit to protecting resource jobs, buying Canadian, strengthening workplace safety and defending workers’ rights.

The BC NDP has put forward strong commitments on these important issues:

But commitments mean nothing without action.

The decisions made in Victoria will shape the future of our workplaces, our families and our communities for years to come.

We have an opportunity to elect BC NDP candidates who understand the importance of good union jobs and strong communities. Let’s make it count.

Election Day is tomorrow, Saturday, October 24!

If you haven’t voted yet, make your plan to get to the polls.

Find your voting location at https://wheretovote.elections.bc.ca/.

Talk to your co-workers, friends and family. Remind them to vote. Every ballot counts.

Steelworkers have fought too hard for our rights, our jobs and our communities to leave our future to chance.

Let’s get out and vote for the BC NDP.

In solidarity,

Scott Lunny
USW District 3 Director
