Bullying Stops Here!

March 1, 2016

USW Local 5917 member Dale Chutskoff of Yorkton, Sask., wanted to honour his late son, Alex, who had been a victim of bullying. Dale wanted to raise awareness of the bullying that affected Alex and many of his friends over the years.

Dale started a Go Fund Me website to raise money to paint their family vehicle with the slogan ‘Bullying Stops Here.’ Dale then spent countless hours travelling between Yorkton, Regina and surrounding areas to raise money for his project.

After a year of solid fundraising, hard work and support from USW Local 5917 members, USW District 3, the USW Canadian National Office and community partners, Dale reached his fundraising goal. The Chutskoff family and USW Local 5917 members gathered for the unveiling of the anti-bullying vehicle, a moving event that got coverage in the local media.

Dale’s perseverance and support from his community made this initiative possible.
