District 3 training opportunity for NextGen

December 10, 2024
USW District 3 NextGen logo on blue background with type Training Opportunity for NextGen.

We have received funding from the Family and Community Education Fund (FCEF) for a high school education project. As part of this, we will be training NextGen members to deliver workshops in schools in their communities on worker rights and the role of unions.

We only have funding for the train the trainer portion of the program, but if this is something that your locals would like to do in their communities, encourage them to get young members to apply.

The training will be in Vancouver in March and the funding will cover travel, lost time and accommodations as well as other costs for NextGen members. If you have folks that are interested, but are not NextGen, we may also have space for them, but the local will have to cover their costs.

This is a great opportunity for locals to build the skills of their next leaders and to build connections with new workers.

Please share this application with NextGen members in your locals.

Sincerely,

Scott Lunny
Director
