🇨🇦 To our USW District 3 veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces and our Allied Forces 🇨🇦
Once we hang up the uniform, the mission doesn’t simply end — it changes.
As veterans, many of us face daily challenges that aren’t always visible to those around us. Reintegration into civilian life can be difficult. The loss of camaraderie, structure and shared purpose can leave a real gap. Navigating “civvie life,” new workplaces and new expectations can bring stress, anxiety and a sense of isolation — even years after service.
You are not alone in these experiences. Your service matters and so does your well-being.
The Veterans of Steel committee meets every two months with one clear goal: to create an inclusive, respectful and supportive space where veterans can connect, share experiences and help one another move forward. Together, we work to identify meaningful ways to support veterans within our union and our communities.
If you are a veteran and are interested in being part of this growing network — whether to seek support, offer support or simply reconnect with others who understand — we encourage you to join us.
