The USW is committed to promoting a clean, healthy environment, along with good community-supporting jobs today and for the future. We know that both are possible, which is why the union is out front on issues like North American procurement policies that prioritize sourcing from clean local industries, a fair and just transition for workers and their families, using energy and other natural resources more efficiently and reducing carbon.

USW advocates for putting working people at the centre of policies about the climate crisis, working alongside local Indigenous communities and those most affected to create solutions.

The USW is a founding partner of Blue Green Canada and the Blue Green Alliance in the U.S. Blue Green Canada brings together workers and environmental organizations to solve today’s environmental challenges in ways that create and maintain quality jobs and build a clean, thriving and equitable economy.
