USW 9176 Members at Crown Holdings – Struggle Reaches 20 Months

May 21, 2015

Our members at Crown Holdings have now been on strike for over 20 months. While the Ontario government has taken the rare step of ordering an industrial inquiry, it may not be enough to finally resolve this dispute. The Toronto and York Region Labour Council has started a new LabourStart petition reaching out directly to Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Labour Minister Kevin Flynn to ask them to be prepared to order binding arbitration in the event that the industrial inquiry doesn’t resolve the strike.

The petition already has over 1,400 supporters since it was officially launched though LabourStart yesterday. Let’s make sure there are lots of Steelworkers on the list of supporters! I am urging everyone to go to the link below to send an email letter to Premier Wynne and Minister Flynn and to post the link on their Facebook and Twitter accounts.  Any help in getting this out throughout Canada will be deeply appreciated.

Take Action! Sign the LabourStart Petition

In solidarity,

Marty Warren
