The United Steelworkers is committed to equality. We believe unions need women, and women need unions. We have strong policies against harassment in the workplace, bargain for pay equity and offer training and leadership development to our women members. All women who are members of the Union are considered Women of Steel.
WOMEN REACHING WOMEN – ONE COMMITTEE, MANY VOICES.
The USW District 6 Women of Steel Committee unites and empowers women through education and involvement in the union for the purpose of addressing their concerns and issues and promoting women in the union.
Women of Steel gives women in our union the tools and skills we need to fight for and achieve equality and take leadership roles in our workplaces and in our union. We build confidence through education and networking so women can use their voices.
