TORONTO / MONTREAL / VANCOUVER – All four Directors of the United Steelworkers union in Canada have been re-elected, including National Director Marty Warren, District 3 (Western region) Director Scott Lunny, District 5 (Quebec) Director Nicolas Lapierre and District 6 (Ontario and Atlantic region) Director Kevon Stewart.
Warren and Lunny were first elected in 2022 and have been re-elected to a second term, while Stewart began as District 6 Director in October 2024 and Lapierre as District 5 Director in May 2025 and both will commence their first full term as directors.
“Congratulations to all of our hardworking USW directors here in Canada,” said Warren. “Together we will continue to stand up for Canadian workers in a hostile and challenging climate to fight for good contracts and for economic and political systems that work for our members. We will continue to provide a powerful Canadian voice while working with our U.S. counterparts to continue a spirit of co-operation to the benefit of all working people.”
New terms begin on March 1. The four will work alongside USW International President-elect Roxanne Brown, who is both the first woman and first Black president of the United Steelworkers union, along with former USW District 6 Director and current Secretary-Treasurer Myles Sullivan, now located at the union’s headquarters in Pittsburgh.
The United Steelworkers union represents 225,000 members in nearly every economic sector across Canada and is the largest private-sector union in North America with 850,000 members in Canada, the United States and the Caribbean.
Each year, thousands of workers choose to join the USW because of our strong track record in creating healthier, safer and more respectful workplaces and negotiating better working conditions and fairer compensation – including good wages, benefits and pensions.
